8. If applicants have graduated from a university in an English-speaking country or where the language of instruction is English, do they need to have an IELTS certificate?

Yes. All applicants, whether at application or as a short-listed candidate following the IELTS selection test, must have a valid IELTS (or TOEFL iBT or PTE Academic) certificate that meets the minimum IELTS requirements for designated applicant groups (see the Eligibility Criteria section).

Please note that provincial and district-level agency and Equity of Access applicants across all applicant groups do not need to submit an IELTS certificate at application. However, if shortlisted for an interview, these applicants must sit for an IELTS selection test, which is paid for by the Australia Awards office in Vietnam, and meet the minimum IELTS of 5.0 (no sub-band below 4.5).
